The Mig-21 was hit and was on fire, Wing Commander Abhinandan was left with only one option. He had to eject the plane before it gets too late. Little did he know that in this engagement with the F-16 he had actually crossed the LOC and was actually in Pakistan's Airspace. He ejected and his parachute was seen by many from the ground as the Mig-21 on fire in the mid-air had already been the center of attraction for the people below.
The moment his Parachute hit the ground, he was actually a little injured and had a slight problem in his back. The locals gathered around him like a swarm of bees. A few of them had their suspicion on him which was soon cleared. The Wing Commander soon asked the people whether it was India or Pakistan to which a few locals said India. The Wing Commander was happy for a second but soon came to know that he was tricked. The moment he shouted "Hindustan Zindabad", the crowd started cheering for Pakistan and broke at him. He took out his Pistol and fired it in the Air while gathering all the courage he had, he ran towards the nearby pond.
He knew he had to get rid of the important documents and maps before they get into the wrong hands. He started to swallow a few of them while he tried to destroy the rest in the water of the pond. Right then the group of agitated locals surrounded him and broke on him with all the rage. The Indian Fighter Pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman was feeling helpless at the hands of an agitated crowd and was just about to be a victim of a crowd rage when Pakistan Military stepped in. The face was full of blood and the crowd had worked its anger and it was obvious.
The video that was viral shows the crowd working their anger when the Pakistan Army tries to stop them and take Wing Commander into their Custody. Though the Army tried to stop the locals, the efforts made by them in trying to set the Indian Air Warrior free from them doesn't seem to be effective nor authoritative. The Wing Commander was then taken into the Custody and a few videos of his interaction with the Pakistan Army where he is asked a few questions are already out.
The Wing Commander is born hero and his courage can be seen in those videos as well. He went through a lot that day from a mid-air battle, a plane crash, an emergency eject from the jet to then becoming the center of a crowd rage. He still firmly speaks and states the things as obvious as were. He didn't utter an extra word nor less. He was very straight forward in his response as he was in the battle, he courageously stated that he won't reveal anything that he isn't supposed to speak of.
